Where there are beaches and sports fields, there are hungry people! This City Farm Plan could include the construction of various places to eat, such as a casual establishment and a formal establishment to take advantage of the beautiful waterfront views. Food and beer trucks could also be part of the mix.
One of the ideas included in this plan is to turn the City Farm area into a venue for local arts and music, much like Port Warwick and City Center. Live music, cultural festivals, farmers markets, and local vendors could be hosted in this space, bringing more life to the area and increasing tax revenue for Newport News.
So now it's time to let us know what YOU think:
- What casual dining options and cuisines would you be interested in seeing at this location?
- Are you opposed to the presence of food trucks and/or beer trucks?
- Should an additional, more formal restaurant be built as well?
Please feel free to add comments, ask questions, and express your concerns!
Good idea. I like it.
City destroyed area where local owners had seafood restaurants. Thought that pier would be rebuilt as part of the covenants when given to the city.
I absolutely love this idea. I would prefer more casual dining and food/beer trucks vs fine dining. I live close by and I think it would be so awesome to have somewhere close to go with my family.
If more recreation is added, a venue for food would be needed. Any or all of the suggestions would be good.
